Thanks to all who have participated in concerts of the Freisinger Chamber Orchestra, and welcome, new audience members! We would like to see you this season!  Also, thanks to board members and international composers Chao-Jan Chang and Luiz Casteloes, both composers who have completed three years with us, and who are continuing.

Sincerely,

Peter Freisinger

Our latest news:

In November, the FCO hosted a reading of Stravinksy’s Petrushka (1911 version) and Debussy’s La mer.  Peter led a reading of excerpts from Handel’s Messiah with the Paul Madore Chorale in August.

The Boston-based Freisinger Chamber Orchestra began in June, 2008, and has presented thirteen concerts.  Strings (11-15) and winds (7-10) are mostly graduate students and alumni from Boston University, New England Conservatory, The Longy School of Music, and The Boston Conservatory.  Concerts also feature young singers in repertoire from opera to broadway, accompanied by the conductor at the piano.  Living composers discuss their pieces after premieres.

For its 2009-10 programming, the FCO was a finalist and received honorable mention from The American Prize competition.

The FCO is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.  If you wish to be added to the email list or contribute, please let us know (click on  “Contact” at the top).
